How do I get to the north door?

  1. There's a map of the Elevator maze.
  2. It's in an adjacent room.
  3. In the Room with sketches, south of the western end of the room.
  4. One of the diagrams shows the layout of the maze. The other shows what the elevators look like.
  5. It may not be obvious, but try to match up the sketch with what you see.
  6. The elevator just north of the door to the Main hall is elevator B.
  7. That means that the one across the broken catwalk must be elevator C.
  8. Notice that you can enter each elevator from either the north or the south.
  9. But the partition down the middle prevents you from getting to the other side.
  10. Using the sketch, you can work your way backward through the maze.
  11. You want to get to the door. So you'll need to get to the northern part of either elevator A or elevator B.
  12. Elevator B seems the more likely choice.
  13. You can get to the northern half of elevator B from the upper, northern door from elevator C.
  14. And you can get there from the lower, southern door of elevator B.
  15. And you can get to the upper, southern door of elevator B from the entrance.
  16. So ride elevator B down to the lower level.
  17. Walk elevator C and ride it to the upper level.
  18. Walk to elevator B and ride it to the lower level.
