What to expect from the hints here

For any adventure game, there are many sites that offer walkthroughs, but very few that offer gentle nudges and hints when you get stuck. While walkthroughs are easy to write, they have the unfortunate side effect of giving away too much information about parts of the game that you may not yet have explored.

The purpose of this wiki is to allow people to get help solving adventure games without as many spoilers. Of course, there will probably still be some, despite the efforts of the hint author(s).

Browser requirements

Currently, the plug-in that implements hint lists requires JavaScript and CSS support to work properly. The following sample will show you whether your browser can display them properly:

  1. First hint.
  2. Second hint.
  3. Third hint.
No more hints

You should see the words "First hint" and a button that says "Show next hint". If you click on "Show next hint", you should see another bullet item that says, "Second hint".

Rules for players

It is expected that you, the player, have put some effort into solving each puzzle on your own. In particular, you should explore the areas where you are having trouble before coming here for help. For instance, if a game contains a room with a locked door and a large tapestry, the hints may include links like "How can I unlock the door?" and "How can I steal the tapestry?". These do not constitute spoilers; it is expected that you will have noticed these items already.
